You are the light of the world…

March For Life: 24 Jan 2020

Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others… (Matthew 5)

We live in a time where the dark seems to be growing ever darker. Violence and hate are embraced as progress; divisions seem to run deep. People all over this nation are grasping for affirmation and identity, as we continue to deal with the forty year fallout of legalized abortion — a decision that has marred our understanding of innate human dignity for decades.

In days like these, the public witness of Christ’s church is absolutely crucial.

As Martin Luther King Jr. so famously stated, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” When we gather in DC for the cause of life, we bring the brightest light into an incredible darkness. And God uses it to push back and save lives! Through our prayer and outreach, and even our fellowship, we become Christ incarnate in our nation’s capital. And that means hope. And Romans 5 promises us that hope does not disappoint.

So, on January 23rd & 24th, we invite all of you to join CEC For Life in Washington, DC, as we once more dedicate our lives (and our year) to saving the lives of others: our pre-born brothers and sisters. Together, let’s be the light this dark world desperately needs.
